Atm I have a stock 305 I'm looking at putting on a full *bolt on exhaust* I'd like to do most the work myself. If I have to have a shop make a y pipe then fine. Plans are to build up the 305 or go with a 350 build going to be a na motor. Reason for the exhaust upgrade is mine is *SHOT* Ive been. Reading a lot about exhaust systems but there is so much info... And I'm lost. First can I buy headers, y pipe and a cat back exhaust and bolt it all up or is this asking to much if so, if I deside to go with a 350 will I have to change anything or will it bolt back up. 2nd what would you recommend. Also I atm I have a 700r4 tranny that's on its way out, plans are to swap to a t56, so any fitting issues with bolting on a exhaust system now and then swaping to the t56?

 

Bolt on exhaust means shortys.

 

I can't do long tubes with a catback system having a shop build the y pipe?

 

Dyno Dons headers Ypipe will be fine for you.
Do a search for them

 

For a mild street car, definitely shorty's. And you can buy them and a y pipe and a cat back that will all bolt on. Long tubes can be a pain. I have them and they are the lowest part of my car. Not a great feeling hearing $600 headers hit the ground.

Long tubes can make more power, but you have to have a motor built enough to need them. My car is built for performance first as it is not a daily driver. I'm making somewhere in the 430 to 450 or so hp range so that's why I went with long tubes.

 

I think Dyno dons car makes 400hp and 430tq to the tire with his headers soooo they are good for many cars, prolly 95% of them on here.

 

Well, I did not give as much info on The motor build as I should have I guess wanna build a 383 stroker na motor and after that get a procharger *p600h* think that was the correct part number.
