.....Exhaust Cut-out? I want one with the open/close from inside the car. Price doesn't matter, seeing as it can't be more than like $100. Also I realize that it might slightly divert the flow when closed, so no need to get into that argument

A few things to add to this topic... (happy early new years too!!)

JEG'S seems to only have ones for mustangs in their catalogues (I'm looking for the kind that uses wingnuts.) But would putting a cutout in place of the cat ruin ground clearance? I don't want to point the cutout up so that it heats the floorboard and sets my car on fire, and I want the wingnuts to be easily accessible. Would pointing it down at maybe a 45 degree angle between the floorboard and straight down be bad for ground clearance?

I sure as h*ll don't wanna hit a bump and break the cut-out and be forced to go open headers until I can get it fixed (cops/parents when I come home late at night .)

Try summit's (www.summitracing.com) exhaust cutouts. I just ordered a 3 inch cutout for my 86 IROC. It has the wingnuts like you want. Looks pretty nice too. Have 2 3/8, 2 1/2, 3, and 3 1/2 inch sizes.

I got mine from summit. I took it to a muffler shop and they fitted it in right before the cat and charged me $25. It points out to the side. Normally I dont have any ground clearnace problems.
