I get this rotten egg smell from the exhaust, correct me if i'm wrong , but doesn't this tell signs of a partially clogged cat problem? Need some 2nd opinions.

The smell comes from excess sulphar in the fuel from what I 've been told.

The smell is worse with cheap gas which has a high sulfur content - like Petro Can for example.

I don't believe that it is definetly an indication that the cat is clogged because when I changed the cat it still smelled like something died in there even when the cat was brand new and could not have been clogged yet.

I have no cats on my car and whenever I run sub-premium gas I get that smell.

So no one knows for sure what this smell is caused by? I have the same smell from my exhaust, and it's horrible. How can you get rid of this smell?

i remember a dream i had the other night. It went something like this................ I had a truck that had that same rotten egg smell, so i replaced the cat with a hollow cat, and *poof* the smell went away. I also hollowed out the dual cats on my '91 Z. ........... but I would never do that, because it's illegal, right?

It has to do with the octane rating in the gas. Run a couple of tanks of premium and maybe even a can of octane boost and see if the smell goes away. Good Luck!!

Put an air freshener in the exhaust, maybe like cherries or strawberries.
