Re: Drivers side door

I have one in pretty good shape, very minor rust on the backside and probably a few dings (it's been a while since I looked at it). It was power window and maybe power lock too. Asking $80, I'm close to Columbus.

Thanks, but I talked to my painter friend and I decided to just buy an after market one and not mess around with filler and things. Sorry, but thanks!

Re: Drivers side door

That's fine Now I'm curious though, where can you buy an aftermarket door? I didn't know they were available yet.

Here is a link to a fiberglass door. I actually have not seen a steel aftermarket door myself . My buddy said he'll find one. So.. I'm not 100% sure there are steel ones out there, but I would say theres got to be someone that does. If I find something out I will PM you or post a thread. (these smiley faces never get old)

Re: Drivers side door

As far as I know they do not make an aftermarket steel door. Sherman Auto does however make aftermarket door skins. Just no complete door. Also the fiberglass doors are for an off-road only car. You can not put power windows and everything inside them. The door will not support the weight and stresses. Best bet is just keep searching for a clean door locally. It can be done just takes time.

Re: Drivers side door

Ok, thats what I'm thinking. The guy I bought my car, from the looks of it, side swiped someone from the drivers side and the internal door frame is just messed up. Do you know if I need a power door to put power accessories on it? My painter friend said is shouldn't matter, but he also mislead me in the placement of my frame rails so now I'm back- halfing the car! Thanks

Re: Drivers side door

No you can swap your power regulator into a non power door. I however would recommend finding a clean power door as swaping everything over is a HUGE pain in the butt.

Right, it is much nicer when the door guts are already correct. It can be a challenge to switch everything over, especially if you have never done it before.

Did you get a door? I have both in very good shape within 2 hrs of you, plus a lot of other parts.
