Yep, that's the one I was talking about. I had a friend down there that was thinking about buying it. I guessed a hammer price of $12,500 and that is exactly what it sold for, lol.
They sold a 19k mile 85 IROC for $14,000. It was a blue, hard top. TPI, auto. I thought it brought pretty big money considering it had a super old NOS nitrous system, and switches for it were drilled into the shifter plate. My friend was interested in that one, and I told him to not go any higher than $11,000 on that one. I'm surprised it brought that much with a nitrous system on it. My friend said that when he left the auction, that blue IROC-Z was sitting with the "no sale" cars and had some piece of paper on the windshield, but he didnt go read it. I wonder if the buyer refused it for some reason??
Price would have to DRASTICALLY drop for me to drive that ugly duckling.. Lol In saying that if I were to LS swap one of these cars it would be one like this. SLEEPER

It's been for sale for many years. I want to say, like 10 years, maybe more. I think he started in the $20's.
Dagwood, If it hammered for $12,500, the guy likely has $14,500 in it after commission and shipping. Can't blame a guy for trying to make a buck.
We always repost cars on here if we see them sell and then see them relisted. I dont blame him for trying to make a buck, either....but I don't see this car bringing any more than he already has in it. If it was a super mint, original car, maybe, but I am guessing this car is a repaint due to the lack of door mouldings. Repainted cars just don't bring the money that the original paint cars do...BUT it's hard to say, being a 5 speed. That's definitely gotta help it out...
That was a nice car, and $18k bought it well. For those that didn't see that on BaT, it was a stripped '87. It had the 305TPI, G92, G80, J65 brakes and custom interior. No PW, PL, cruise, AC, TTops or even a cassette player. This car was ordered for one purpose only, and that was to enjoy driving it.
That is one sweet car and someone got it for a steal!
the seller did good by putting it on bring a trailer .. that car was for sale for 14,900 all last summer on craigslist and marketplace ... i think 18k for that car is strong money ..
socalkidd got paid for his car today. He ended up selling it for $26,000
I talked to him earlier. It's a done deal. Money is already transferred to his acct. The buyer has to pay another probably $1,500+ to have it shipped to New York from California. He's getting a hell of a car. I had never seen it in person, but knowing Jim, that car is as good as it gets.
What's ironic, is Jim bought that car in New York and had it shipped to California lol
I have to admit I get a little bit giddy whenever I see a beechwood drivers cup holder lingering around in a 90-92 Firebird. I know they’re out there ripe for the picking. Question is dagwood, how do we find them!!!!! LOL

I saw this one and local to me. A few people have noticed how low the OROC-Z door decals are on this one, the hood alignment& the passenger fender alignment down by the rocker. For bog money items like this shouldnot stand out as being possible issues

I noticed too... a couple things look off.. It’s probably a repaint and I’d definitely pull a Carfax... Price might be a little high if there’s blemishes in the history...
It has the 87 door moldings so I suspect it was repainted a long time ago which also leads me to think it might have been hit...
I'm hesitant to put in the link to one that I'm looking of buying this coming weekend, but I will post the 2 pictures that was in the selling add. It's going for a very low price, I'm just wondering how accurate it is. This is the quote of the description:
"For sell only need to pay my attorney. 5spd manual, t tops. 100% rust free. Straight pipe to dual exhaust. 10/10 interior condition. T tops don’t leak, headlined in good condition. Has heat and A/c. Aftermarket temp gauge, all lights and such work. Starts right up, drives fine. 305 v8. Has a POSI rear end. Strong clutch, clean title. Hurst shifter. Have videos of it running if wanted. Hood shocks and hatch shocks work perfectly. Electric windows work fine. Have both original keys. Comes with 2 stock wheels plus 3 rally wheels (rears are deep dish). Drive it home today. "
The post shows that there are 7 pictures, but only 4 were actually in the post. No interior shots, no passenger side shots so, I'm only going on what is described. Here is the issue I am having. First off, how accurate is the Tech Data for this site? If it's dead on accurate, then this car is not an 86. 3rd brake light in the spoiler was not available until 87. Knowing that RS was not around until 87 and only as a 6 cylinder, so I know this is not an RS, but the grill in the front and no driving lights, doesn't make this a Z-28 either.
I haven't contacted the seller yet seeing as every time that I find one that is a good price and contact the seller, it's sold before I get a chance to look it over and make an offer. I'm even jinxing myself even talking about it in here, but I am hoping someone can shed some light on what I picked up on, being different than the Tech article on a 1986.

If the parts on the car are original, the only option is a 1987 Z28. A regular Z28 has that grille with no fog lights. It has the right hood, wheels, grille, and hatch for an 87 Z28

I had a 90 RS with the 3rd brake light in the spoiler and the 3 spoiler pieces are larger and different bolt positions on each of the 2 1/4 panel pieces. So, if the hatch was swapped, either the 1/4 panel pieces are smaller, or body work was also done to get the 3 parts to look correct. That's why I was wondering if the Tech Data is correct and if any 86's had an option for the 3rd brake light in the spoiler. I didn't know that about the grill, I thought all Z28's had the driving/fog lights. As for the hood being correct, anyone can swap hoods. Same for the wheels. I have several saved listing for the wheels ranging from $30 for all 4 to $150 for all 4. I have a set of 4, but 2 of them have the lug nut holes elongated, and doesn't look like it was drilled out to make them that way. And it's not all 5 lug nut holes, either. If I'm not mistaken 87 was the first year for the Grid Style Tail lights for the Z28s as a standard feature.
But, I'll know more if it's still available this weekend, I am really hoping it is still for sale. The only other 5 speed 3rd gen I found is a 90 RS 305 TBI, T-Tops but no engine wiring harness. I have a TBI harness, I just don't remember what year that harness came off of. Hell, that harness could even be from any GM vehicle that had TBI

Reason: Thought of something else to add.

As a general rule, I stay away from any car that says 10/10, perfect, etc etc. None are, and when that is said it makes me question the integrity of the car overall.
As far as this car, yes everything matches for an 87 Z28 except the tail-lights. What year is it?
Ahh hell, I didn't notice the tail lights. 85 was the first year for the grid style tail lights in a Z28
No 1986 cars had the rear spoiler third brake light
Yeah, that's right. I should have remembered that 85 had the grids. My brother had a 85 Z28 while I had my 90 RS. He didn't like the grids and swapped tail lights with me.

Post said it is a 86. I don't expect 10/10 on interior either. I already noticed that the hood is actually primered with out the louvers attached. That could mean nothing but, it could say a lot. If it is still for sale this weekend, I already planned on taking a printed out RPO list, printed out Tech Data for the 85, 86 & 87 Camaros from TGO, and my Camaro Repair manual to decode everything. I also remember a lot of other things about the 3rd gens to give me clues on what is actually correct or not correct. I just want to have a 3rd gen again.
My 90 RS, I traded a guy for his 94 Z28. He actually posted his trade offer on TGO, this was back in 04. My Uncle towed it up to Michigan and we towed the 94 back here. I also had to give my 89 350 TPI Motor with the trade. I'm also kicking myself because in 02 I bought a 1989 IROC from a guy in IL that posted on here, needed the tranny rebuilt so after that was done the car stopped turning over. I had power to everything, but turning the key yielded nothing. Switched VATS (Back then, a replacement VATS box with Ignition & Key could still be obtained pretty easy.), switched ECM and PROM, replaced relays and other stuff, but nothing worked, it still wouldn't turn over. I stripped it bare after getting fed up and pissed off, sold some parts, kept others ( most parts I kept got lost in the countless moving from house to house over the years), and then towed the shell to the scrap yard. Homer Simpson moment for me back then.
My fire red 89 DX3/G92/N10/MM5 2 owner car with all the original documentation may be for sale soon. (including original window sticker, build sheet, and buyers sheet he filled out to even order the car (hand-written and ultra cool)) It has 52k miles. Still had the dealership emblem on the rear bumper when I got it. I removed it, but kept it.
I've been through the car and repaired all the small details that were not done (antenna, OE exhaust, remove front license plate holder, refresh fog lights and grill,. no heat, few interior bits, trans rebuild, TPI emblem, coolant gauge sticking, etc). I am bringing it to an exhaust shop to help me fit the new N10 setup from Walkers and Eastern Converters and will be done minus needing a polish and clean up(I don't think it has ever been done).
Not sure on it yet, but I want a white, blue, or yellow 5 speed with T-tops!
Strange car for a few reasons, but I love the white Irocs with the yellow and grey, so I could see why that would be used as a theme.
those stripes look wrong for some reason... too close together... I could get over it if it had the 88-90 17” repro wheels and the correct stripes... Iroc look without the decals... cool idea for the right car...
Interior looks nice for not being original.. Car looks to be in good shape...

I agree. Stripes are close, but not exact! In my older age, I am becoming more of a purist, but I like the idea for some reason.
