History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
My car left today so I'm officially on the hunt! Someone please find something killer before I buy a 1997 30th Anniversary Camaro SS with 31k miles, and a big ol Vortech blower, heads, cam, etc lol.

I know of a 91 Camaro B4C T5, 31k miles, full documentation/history, that the owner would let go for $25k.
And the crazy thing is (in my opinion) The first seller did a waaaay better job presenting the car when it was 9K I would have felt pretty comfortable buying from the first seller. Had the pictures we all want to see. you could tell what the car is, The good & the bad. Its a nice solid car with a little wear & tear @ 72K miles.
Drives me crazy when people try to sell cars online without detail pictures. If I am taking pictures of my car to show off for the world to see, I get showing the cars "good sides" only. But when you are posting pictures for a potentially new owner, The pictures need to be transparent. OR at the very least add in the description of the sale that you have more picts available. I Sure as heck would not want somebody coming halfway across the country to buy a car & then find out all of the details.
Ad says it's a Formula but it doesn't appear to be the case. Has Firebird script on fender, no Formula lettering, and the non-Formula hood. Firebird stickers on the sail panel are too high.
Just adding that the car is not original and not exactly as described (i.e., not a Formula).

Yup, looks like a base Firebird. Seller is confused.
And this guy has two IROC convertibles with 5-speeds.. both $14k OBO and both have mileage listed as “0”
They don’t look bad underneath. The blue one has a terrible steering wheel swap and I don’t know why the back seats are down in every picture of the red car...
They say “partially restored” which I’m guessing is paint/or paint correction, carpets, new tops, and the red one looks like it has the Classic Industry reproduction seat covers on the front... but still, they look pretty solid... I’m guessing $14k will be High once you see the car in person, realize the odometer rolled in the 90s, and previous owners made choices that have to be fixed properly...
Yeah... these are not sight unseen purchases... You’d have to check them out...
Probably need vehicle history report to determine the mileage...
You're exactly right! A more original documented car would be easier to do, but any restoration/repaints/undisclosed miles throws flags that must be checked before a purchase!

I saw these too. They look good but.....questionable. Like the steering wheel is an easy fix, but why would you not replace it before sale, and why was it put on to begin with? ..and BOTH look to have the cheap seat covers. Still....if that was really all the issues these cars had, I'd consider the blue one for sure. Just can't tell what else you're getting into. Think the AC is out on the blue one too.

Yeah they look like they might have been decent fixer-uppers but someone may be trying to do a quick flip or before they got to the current seller they were a quick flip attempt...
Sketchy that they don’t give any indication of the mileage... You know they pulled reports on these cars...
I stumbled across this car a couple days ago. It is for sale, but there is no set price as of yet, and it's not advertised anywhere. It just came out of storage, and is dirty from sitting in a machine shed. It is only like 35 miles from me. It's a 1989 Camaro RS convertible, 305, 5 speed, and only 8,600 actual miles. If anyone is interested, I can get the owner's information.
