Stock 700r4 shift cable work with 4L60E?
I'm guessing it should. My cable can pull the trans out of park, however it can't push/pull into any other gear once its done that. I'm assuming my cable is shot and I'll need a new one. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm using the stock bracket that came with the 4L60E? Do I need a 700r4 bracket?
However, I just thought I'd post this question in case they are different, and I've just never heard of anyone changing the cables.
If its a stupid question, feel free to ridicule me. But I'm hoping for a real answer.

I was wondering the same question but then again I went a different route..I'm using the stock cable and the stock bracket that came with my LS1/4L60E..The cable is a perfect fit, its long enuff and fits in the stock location..The only thing I changed is the way it mounts to the acutal shifter (no biggie tho)..good luck..

Your cable is probably broke up by the center console. Mine broke too, had to replace it. Wasn't hard.

How did you guys mount the 4l60e shifter ojnto the stock shifter? I'm thinking of drilling the tab on the shifter and running a bolt/nut to secure it.

I used my stock replacement thirdgen shift linkage cable.. It bolted right onto the 4L60E shift linkage arm on the pan.

silly, mostly on topic question - anyone know what the nut size is that attaches the shift linkage/bracket to the transmission? mine was missing and now i feel like i've tried 1/2 a dozen sizes without any luck. sorry for getting a bit off topic...
