Fuel tank/pump LS3 swap
Has anyone used the new automotive stealth generation 2 fuel tank/pump assembly in a swap yet? Getting close with my LS3/6L80E build and this may be the best/easiest way to go. Just dropped my tank today.
I had the original intake assembly set up for a mechanical pump from a previous swap
Thanks

Aeromotive is taking orders but haven't shipped them yet. Member Chuck! Just bought one and should have it soon. It's expensive but by the time you add up the costs of a good fuel system for 500+ho, it's not that bad .

Re: Fuel tank/pump LS3 swap
Thanks for the input, the Aeromotive rep I spoke to recommended against a combination fuel filter/regulator like the Corvette assembly as I've seen recommended here. He stated that you should run a filter then regular with a 3/8 return. His first question to customers calling with pump issues is are they running a combo filter/regulator, most often they are using the combo filter/regulator. Anybody experience this or was I enjoying some sunshine being blown up my skirt? Much more expensive to do the separate filter and regulator.
Thanks

It's got a 340 pump so that is probably on the ragged edge of what a stock C5 Corvette regulator can handle. Risk is fuel pressure goes high at low load, such as idle and cruising. Although, there are multiple places that sell the Corvette filter/regulator in kits with 340 pumps for 4th gen Camaro's. So in other words, it depends who you want to believe!

Re: Fuel tank/pump LS3 swap
I agree with QwkTrip, I spent forever trying to chase down a wot fuel pressure issue. originally had a racetronix 255 pump, with the vette filter/regulator. And even not at wot pressure was never consistent. Tried replacing the filter a hand full of times, with wix brand, and still no dice. Even tried a couple different pumps without any improvement. Finally gave up and re ran fuel lines and went with an adjustable regulator closer to the engine. 0 problems since, should have ran it that way from the beginning. Moral of the story,340 pump is awesome for an ls3, just dont use the vette filter so you can have consistent fuel pressure across the board.
What regulator did you end up running? I was planning on running the C5 filter, but maybe I will change.

I used the aeromotive adjustable regulator part# 11569. Mainly because i already had everything set up with 6an fittings, and a lot of the other regulators had 8an connections.

Nope, just leave it open. It says in the instructions not to cap it if its not being used. I linked the instructions so you dont have to search. These are not the same as what they show on summit(instructions on summit do not mention the vacuum port)

Re: Fuel tank/pump LS3 swap
Just my 2 cents, if you dig deep into Aeromotives website they have tips on setting up different fuel systems and it suggests using the vacuum port on NA engines to decrease the fuel pressure at idle so that the injectors don't have to work as hard at low engine speeds. I'm using a vacuum on mine and it seems to help stabilize the idle.

Re: Fuel tank/pump LS3 swap
I have a rock solid 59 psi at idle with 0 issues. That's with the holley fuel sensor at the rail. I log pretty frequently with the holley software, and havent seen anything that would show needing the vacuum connected. I guess if someone was having an issue at idle, it might help.
