My New Car...
Well I sold the 89 RS Convertible, and picked up a 91 Z28 Convertible. Almost just like the 89.
The New 91 is a Z/28 Black on Grey Leather. Automatic 5.0... thats bout all I know about her so far. I havent bothered to decode any of its RPO's yet.
Good news is the Z/28 has a good top.

Re: My New Car...
The 91 looks Great! The paint looks fantastic too. I think you made a wise choice, Z28 is much nicer than the RS.

Re: My New Car...
Thank's you all.
89N10GTA - The Red one in the background is actually my 2001 Sunset Orange Metallic Z/28 but thanks for the compliment.
I sold the 89 for 3600 bucks, and bought the z for 3800, so i think i did real good.
As for how it runs, the car is incredible,(even though it needs a tranny mount) Much more power than the old l03 in my old vert. It doesnt squeak as much, or flex, it feels more solid all around. The motor feels strong, it seems to be able to keep up with my buddys iroc which is a 350 car with a few mods.. so im quite pleased. It has had the rear end converted to an 87 GTA rear disk setup with 327 gears.. so it a bit quicker than the other vert off the line.
The motor itself is totally unmolested. Has everything still on her, including the SMOG setup. So far the only thing i havent been able to get working is the Cruise Controll. Other than that, all is good. Here's some more photos of the new car :

here's what needs repainted from the previous owner.

Re: My New Car...
wow thats nice and clean with the normal exceptions (like drivers seat). Of the three IROC's I've owned, I think only one had a working cruise control.
The front end damage looks minor. Definatly a good score for a $200 upgrade!

Re: My New Car...
wow man, great find...awesome upgrade to the '89. i like how the rear bumpercover matches the spoiler perfectly....what are your plans for it?
Re: My New Car...
Very nice car, one day i'll own a '92 Z28 vert. Keep us posted on the upgrades.
BTW- Check the vaccum lines along the driver side fender that go to the CC, they are most likely dry rotten and hold no vaccum.

Re: My New Car...
Thanks guys!! yea, i think it was worth it overall.. I appreciate the compliments. thats for sure. I still just cant get over how much of a difference it made getting the 91 from the 89.. im not trying to dog out my 89, but shoot, its like night and day.
Future plans :
Fix the front end paint.
Clean the Engine bay.
Troubleshoot and repair the cruise control.
Replace the steering wheel to get rid of that dang cover.
Fix the driver seat skin.
Put the Alston Sub Frame Connectors that came with the car on it.
Steam Clean the carpet.
Wire the speakers properly and replace any blown.
Polish up the wheels or replace them with something different...
Troubleshoot and fix the AC system leak.
Maybe put a small bass tube in it for some bump.
Tint the windows.
thats really bout all i want to do to her.. she's almost perfect in every wya for me to begin with.
I though tmaybe the Vacumn lines were it.. Ill check them as i get time.

I don't know how much Vert. Camaros usually go for, but, for what you bought the 91' for, someone got ripped on that 89. Or did you do other things to it since that picture?

Re: My New Car...
lol. well this is what the 89 looked like when i sold it.

So you can make the decisions for your self. Personally, I think i just got a dang good deal on the 91, but thats just me. Plus the car came with all origional parts, Origional hood, tail lamps, Seats, Etc...
