Hot Rod Story
He's a good story, an older guy was rebuilding his 54 Chevrolet, he put his heart and soul into it. He was a true old school hot rodder from the fifties.
this car was his passion.
He had grafted Mercedes Benz E Class headlights onto the front, 53 Corvette grill, Frenched the taillights, put air ride suspension on all 4 corners, new 383 Crate engine, Digital speedo & gauges, 18" Billet Specialties, Candy Purple paint, etc etc, .
It was his dream to finish the car & enter it into the Autorama.
He unexpectedly died, leaving his family behind. He was loved by all who knew him.
His wife loved him so much she sent his 54 over to my neighbor to have the hot rod finished. My neighbor builds award winning Tri-5's (55, 56, 57 Chevys).
My neighbor has been working on this car for over a year. Complete new interior, color sanding, Painless wiring harness, custom exhaust, custom everything.
He finally got it ready in time for this years Autorama.
And wouldn't you know it, he did such a good job on it...it took first place in its class.
My neighbor said the widow was in tears as she accepted the trophy on behalf of her departed husband.
Me and the guys at Rocklin Automotive did the exhaust, wheels & tires on that car.
Thats some wife,
I'll post pics tomarrow.

Re: Hot Rod Story
Just kidding. I remember there was a towel and 3-5 layers of plastic seat covers on the seat. A lot of older folks were always looking at that car.
