nitrous on stock internals

will the stock crank and rods at 9.5:1 hold a 50-100 shot or is this a bad idea

Should handle it no problem. the key is a proper tune.
use high octane gas, use cool spark plugs, use conservitive timing, use richer mixtures. All cheaper than busted pistons.
up to 175 hp is not a problem on a stock motor with proper tune up. When you get beyond this the tuning mistakes will cost you large. that why you need stronger bottom end parts.

f-bird 88, anymore detail on tuning? I have a 305 tpi car 1991. Was looking a base of 150 shot up to ?.

This is the last mod to this engine. The engine currently has underdrive pulleys, complete accel ignition and headers with flowmaster exhuast and muffler.

I'm not sure as to what the next engine will be that's why I wanted the N.O.S. to be at a base of 150 shot.

Yea, I think this is a big question. Most people dont realize tunning is needed for nitrous. I also have a 305tpi and when I finish my bolt-ons I would like to run some n2o. I want a max of 150shot though. I'll start at 50 and work my way up. I'm just looking for 12's. I dont care if its a 12.99999 as long as that first number is 12 =P

I asked the question once before and they said wouldn't recommend over a 125hp shot on a 305 and 150 on a 350.

I have run about 3 bottles set up for a 150 shot on my 91 305. I never had problems. It is all in the tune...be conservative and it will live.
I ran a 13.1 with this setup. I was hoping for 12s but ran out of juice.
If your engine is in good mechanical order it should be fine.

13.1 on a 150 shot...hmmmm. Do you have any supporting mods? I have a 1991 305TPI but its not the 700R its the T-5 tranny soon to be a T-56 6-speed.

Pretty much whats in my sig.
It pulled a 1.73 60' foot time. the run was made in the first 60'. It didn't really pull after mid track. I am in the process of building a new 355. I can't wait to hit it with the juice.

It sounds like you've been down this NOS road before. What do you think of the NOS kit that Hawks has, 100 to 150 hp "wet" system. #NOS05151. Its a little smaller than I org. planned but Hawks says it won't effect daily driving.

I feel that after read thru mountains of post on this subject that, I should get a fuel pressure reg and guage before I even think about the bottle. What do you think?

That is the kit I have and I like it a lot. I talked with the guys from NOS and they said the plate itself can provide a 200HP hit. the solenoids are good for 175HP. I was thinking about upgrading the solenoids and spaying a bigger shot.
I would definatly get a gauge for your fuel system. You need to see if your pump is going to supply what you need. My stock pump could not keep up and I ran a little lean on a couple passes. I had a silver substance on the porcelin of my plugs, not good. this was with a 100 shot. I now have a 255 L/hr Walbro and have had 0 problems. If you get serious about nitrous you might want to think about getting a controler. I now use a Jacobs Nitrous Master Mind and it works good.

I hope I helped you out.

Well the Walbro is just the manufacturer of the fuel pump. Holley, Edelbrock, etc. resell them as their own.
The Jacobs mastermind can be found on Summit racings website. It is a nitrous controller that lets you choose how your nitrous is sprayed. It lets you spray a small amout to begin with then gradually ramps up to the full hit.
