pics needed :v8 intercooled twin turbo setups
hey guys i was wondering if u guys could post up some pics of ur twin turbo intercooled setups.
im gonna be doing a 4.3 vortec swap in my 89 rs starting this weekend.and im either gonna run twin t04e turbos or do a single t70.so id like to get some ideas on how to run all the cold side pipes if i do go with the twin setupsince the 4.3 is gonna be pretty much the same as all u sb guys.which id rather do then a single turbo setup.
thnx guys

I dont have any pix of my intercooler setup but it fits my core dimensions like it was made for it! It came off of a 99 freightliner with a navistar engine i think. Got it at the local wrecking yard for 250 bucks. I had to relocate the inlet/outlets to point straight down and notch the core support out accomodate them. Your sig. says you are going to use a 2004r. I love those trannys' but beware that they bust the forward input drum drive stub off around 550 whp. I built one for a Buick GN that runs 10.50's and it just broke the planetaries inside too. The planetaries doesnt happen too often but the drive stub IS the weak link. There are upgrades but i dont know much about them yet.

I had to notch some of the hood structure, but nothing visible externally. I modified an intake y-pipe for a 3000gt from ebay, $20

what size are those tubes running over the top.
ive got a bolt on 2.5 cowl hood, wondering if i could do the same thing, though id like to use a dual inlet single outlet fmic if possible this way i could run 3 inch tubing right to the tb like i did with the 3.1 motor.i dont think its possible though with twin turbos.though im thinking i could sorta use the same type of routing i did with the single turbo on the 3.1 v6

Here are some pictures of my setup.. I went with 2 T04Bs, I used Gale Banks manifolds that I found on ebay. The intercooler is from ebay also, it's a pretty tight fit infront of the radiator....

The tubes over the rad are 2-1/4 radiator hose I found on the wall at Salvo auto parts. Someone criticized them at a gas station one time for being silicone instead of aluminum, saying they'd expand under boost. I told him that when they expand they flow better!
I also made 3" fiberglass/aluminum pipes from the turbo inlets to cone filters where the highbeams used to be. I don't have any pictures of them.
