Re: TURBO MY 3.1

dude lay off the CAPS,
if u read the links i gave u, all of ur ?'s will be answered,
#2 u cannot use an aftermarket off the shelf chip with a turbo setup,it will destroy the motor the first time u step on it and go into boost.
u really cant do ram air with a turbo,u can do somewhat of a cia depending on were and how u mount it.

before u do anything else i highly suggest u reread the links i gave u,and also do alot of research on how turbo systems work,

Since this has nothing to do with engine swaps, moving to Power Adder.

CAR PICS

I was confused on whar cars you own as posted in other post. I to have a 91' firebird I just bought. What all have you done with it. Mine is a 305 TBI and am in the middle of restoring it now.

Would like to see some pics of the motors and of the car for body comparisons. It would seem the previous owner was in the middle of modifying it when I bought it.

that depends entirely on which turbo you run. and only then can we tell you what hp it is capable of.

Re: TURBO MY 3.1

well if you dont have good wrench skills i wouldnt even bother with a turbo, thats alot of customizing. i helped out putting a new turbo on a 87 starion and granted its not a fbody but damn its alot of work. if you want the best bang for your buck and only want to spend a couple hundred bucks and swap to a v8, get nitrous.

Re: TURBO MY 3.1

a carb is more basic and probally gonna be a little cheaper, where as a FI engine will be more electrical and more money, but ultimatley could mean more power if done correctly.

you could go to a junk yard and get a cheap 350 block for a couple hundred dollars and then totally rebuild it, but personally i think just getting a crate 350 would be best.

Re: TURBO MY 3.1

I'm in the process of turboing my v6 right now and let me tell you, if you don't have much experience with cars it will be much easier to swap in a v8. If you're ambitious and have at have a friend who knows about cars and can help you then go for it, but a v8 swap is much easier.
