Will lowering spindles work with aftermarket brakes?
Hey Everyone,
Once again thanks for your help.:hail: :hail: :hail:
I have been thining about getting lowering spindles but later I would like to get a nice pair of aftermarket brakes. I have been how you have to cut up the spindle to get them to bolt up to where the dust shield is. Is the shield in a corrected space for the lowered spindles?
Will after market brakes work?
Thanks you for your help:hail: :hail: :hail:

I'm pretty sure Baer makes a kit that will work with Bell Tech dropped spindles. Other than that, I dunno. That cutting you're talking about is only required when installing 1LE brakes on "modified" stock spindles.

Umm...
I thought most upgradeed aftermarket brakes needed the spindles cut to have them fit.
If bear's brakes should fit I think most of them would though.
Thanks for the input:hail: :hail: :hail:

I adapted a set of drop spindles to the BAER track kit. In a nut shell it's the exact same thing as modifying the spindle for the 1LE brakes. Dust sheild? whats that? the BAER setup doesn't have one.

to do upgrade to the spindles you use the dust shield bolt holes to bot the caliper bracket to the spindle.

Umm..
Do you have to drill your own holes?
everyone I know who has upgraded needed to up the holes to bolt the bracket up for the caliper.
What bolt holes do they use?

Yes I drilled my own holes. The bolts I used were 12mmX1.75 Make sure you drill and tap the new holes as straight as you can get them (I don't suggest using a hand drill)
