Should I expect realignment problems after installing the Eibach Sportlines??

Should I expect realignment problems after installing the Eibach Sportlines??

I'm wondering if my stock strut mounts will provide enough adjustment to bring my car back into specs or will I need to purchase a set of aftermarket mounts?

Also when doing an alignment on a lowered thirdgen, are the factory alignment specs still good or do the numbers need to be changed at all??

I'm no expert on this bu here is my opinion. I would imagine an aftermarket strut mount set will give you a much better ride. The sportline is the more extreme of the two drops avaliable by Eibach. 2" is pretty low (or is it 1.8"?) If your struts are adjustable you can probably get away with it, but a set of aftermarket strut mounts (like HMS strut mounts from the other thread) will allow the strut full travel and prolly make them last longer. My setup will include adjustable spring pertches, and can move 3 inches down. Because of this I opted for a set of HMS strut mounts.

There are other things you might want to think about with a drop that low (sportlines are a 2" drop right?) Look into a panhard bar to even out the rear, LCA relocation brackets and a bumpsteer kit to fix the geometry. Remember that when you drop a car you are changing the suspension geometry. The lower you go the more it changes. Its a really good idea to even it out so the car dosn't have adverse handling characteristics.

As far as the alignment, I think this webite has a good alignment spec sheet somewhere in the tech section. I would follow that (tailored for AX or SCCA).

As far as solving the geometry problem after lowering, I've already thought of. I plan on installing all the addtional parts required to have it handle like it should.

My question is just because I lower the vehicle the alignment specs shouldn't change right. I'll still be using the same numbers when doing the alignment right? I know there are several different specs on this site for better performance but I'm just looking for a simple answer to my question.

It will allow you to use a more 'aggressive' alignment. Which will be to your advantage, but you may use the factory alignment specifications without any problems. As in your other post, the bump steer might be your only problem, but I dont see it being "that' much of one.

but also with such an aggresive drop as the sportlines offer, will the stock strut mounts have enough adjustment in them to get my car back to original specs or will I need an aftermarket pair which will give me increased adjustment??


Basicaly I want to be prepared for the worse if I do install these springs in my car and take it in to get realigned is there a possability that there going to say that my car doesn't have enough adjustment in it to put it back to specs, all we could do is get it close.

I myself would get the aftermarket adjusters just for thier ability to adjust beyond the stock spectrum. They are built better (more ridged, eaiser to align) and you will be covered to adjust anyway you want. Who knows, you make make some changes later on down the road.....but you will still be covered if you need to make adjustments.

It should guarantee the ability to adjust to the stock spec.

You will be able to get the car aligned to spec with the sportlines without anything else being added to the car.

I believe that is the answer to the question you were asking.

I added an adjustable panhard bar and relocation brackets and that is it after my sportline install. I only added those to re-center the rear and maintain its origonal geometry.
