installing bushings

I just bought a master set of energy suspension polyeurethane bushings for my 1989 Formula 350 WS6. I was wondering how many of them I need to get pressed in or if they need to get pressed in at all since they are poly. Thanks for the replies.

On the front end you have the four bushings for the lower A-arms that are pressed.

In the rear I am not sure about the LCA's but they may be pressed if they come in your set.

the a-arms most likely need to be pressed.

A-arm bushings are a pain

The 4 a-arm bushings are the biggest pain of the whole project (assuming you just bought new lca's instead of the bushings for them) I would say it took about 4 hours with an experienced mechanic getting the old ones out and new ones in. This is not something I want to do again. I think the whole back end only took 3 hours.

just a side note....be very careful if you press in the bushings on the LCA's and panhard yourself...that damned stamped metal bends real easy. slide something up in there to brace it on the inside. hehe or just take the oppurtunity to box em in

Like has been said earlier, you must brace the A-arms and lca's otherwise you'll squash them.On removing the old bushings, heating them up with a blowtorch makes them pop out a lot easier.I used a press made by a friend from a welded rsj frame and a 20 ton bottlejack, works great.Good luck my friend
