What mods do you have to your car? I ran the 502-5 when my stock injectors took a dump. The unit is really nice, but you will run rich, very rich and your gains will only be in the upper rpm. If your car is near stock, it is not needed. Give a little more info on what you have, and I can tell you whatever you'd like to know about the Holley unit.

well, the 5.0 vs. 5.7 version only refers to the size of the injectors. if i was you, i would definitely get the 502-6, just because if you ever want to do additional mods to the car, you will have the injectors already. just my opinion. it just seems a waste to get a TB with smaller injectors when you can get the larger ones for the same price.

the afpr is there...you just have to get that brass cap off. i think i used a tiny drill bit and drilled a hole in it, then got it out using a small screw driver. then there is a nice allen head there to adjust the fuel pressure.

thats about right...depending on how your motor is setup though. its all relative. give that a try, then adjust from there.

Pablo is 100% right. You need to burn your own chips. The 502-5 comes with the 57pph injectors, and even with all my mods and the fp regulator turned as low as it would go, I still ran very rich on the stock chip. My BLMs were probably 112-118 on average. It took a few times to get them remotely close to 128. So if you do go with the 502-6, keep in mind the 65 pph injectors and be prepared for chip tuning.

he did not say if he put that 502-6 on a 305 or a 350 if it was on a 305 i can understand why it runs so rich and with mods wouldn't make it worse due to the fact that he is pulling lower vacuum at low rpms. i plan on getting in to prom burning but i do not have the time to before my new motor goes in i just want it to not wash down the cylinders till i get the stuff together to tune it.

Actually, if you go up a few responses, you will see that I used the 502-5. And yes it was on my L03. When I put the 670 TBI in, I had headers and complete exhaust, open element, MSD Ignition and that was about it. The ONLY place it helped out was past 4,300rpm. And I really think had I made my stock regulator adjustable, I would have seen the same gains by simply increasing the fp. Even after I installed the holley projection intake, 1.6 rockers, underdrive pullies, 8.8 accel wires and header plugs, she still ran incredibly rich. A 5 minute drive with the windows down would leave me smelling like I was riding a lawnmower for 8 hours.
I am not ragging on the unit by any means, as she is going atop my 383. But on a daily driver 305, it is not needed.

sorry, brain fart

yes i agree on that my truck runs very rich when it is in open loop but it is alot better when it heats up. but it was running rich with the stock unit cold too. i think it has to due with the 212,786 miles of plowing towing and mud bogging. i also agree that it is over kill for a stock 305. the new motor i am putting in, in a week, is a lo5 with a cam projection intake, headers and the truck already has full exhaust 3" to muffler then duel 2.5 out. this thing will pbly run like crap till i get it tuned. hop i don't screw it up. have to order a programmer.
