Good Combo or Bad Combo

1.84/1.50

Will those SBC 262 heads off the monzas and novas....... with 1.84/1.50 work well with the 262xe cam and the performer rpm intake? I dont have the money to buy new heads and I heard these heads arent so bad after all. Someone please help me on this.....This is the only aspect Im truly unsure of.. I just want my engine to break into the 13s with slicks and 14s without. It has a 9-1 compression and supposed performance pistons. If it is a waste of money to get any of these in a combo please let me know. What is the best combo for them heads in everyones opinion???

1.84 isn't the best valve size, 1.5 isn't bad, but 1.94 would help out a lot more, not sure how to go about doing it though.

Is there any way to make the stock ones bigger.......Instead of going out and buying new heads?

I'm pretty sure, but you'd have to buy new valves, I'm no expert on it, so hopefully someone else will step in here.

Well if nothing else Im just going to stick with these heads, the 262 cam, performer RPM and a carb. I hope that helps me out.....Say Mark....Your Hooker setup.l...did you get it complete at 1 time or seperately? I want to get a 3" setup all the way back but dont know where to get the Whole thing? The cat-back I got from Jegs for $200, I got the cheapest one but it needed some fabrication.

Good luck, running 2 pipes out the back over the axle is going to be near impossible.

So mark do you just have 1 pipe dual outlets then? Is it 3" all the way back? Would it be worth it to get Header and keep the CatBack system I have now? it is only 2 1/4 I think. But I love the setup it has. !!!!!

2 1/4 to me sounds a little small... but then again i dont know... we have a 97 chevy with a true dual exhaust the pipes arent much bigger then 2" 's... it sounds really good...

but since the true duals out the rear is nearly impossible then i would atleast up grade the I pipe to 3". think about it which is going to flow better? 2 1/4" or 3" ???

Oh I know it will flow better but I dont want to lose the placement of my pipes. Its original and is a B*tch to do again!
