Post pics of your *stock* TPI motor
I'm in the process of cleaning up my engine bay. A previous owner swapped a 350 into my car, and they didn't do the best job of tucking stuff away and making it look factory original. I need any pictures of the stock TPI engines, 305 or 350 (they're pretty much the same with wiring, etc). Close-ups of the various areas, such as valve covers, distributor, and inner fenders would be great. Also, I'd like some pictures of the labels that appear under the hood and on the fan shroud.

Well mines not a stock motor but I did run everything in stock locations. Except for my MSD spark plug wires. I routed those while the engine was on the motor stand, they go behind each cylinder head and then underneath my headers.
Hope these help...

Hey TunedPort335......I love where u mounted your MSD Ignition box.....do you have any pictures of how you mounted it....or could you tell me how you mounted? It's kind of hard to tell in the pictures. I just bought an MSD-6A Box for my 91 Z28....your box looks really unifrom...like it's not stuck in a corner or anything.

I took a peice of steel, a little longer and wider than the MSD 6AL itself. I then bent up one end of the steel (facing the drivers side of the car), and drilled a couple holes into it. I mounted it to the fender using a couple self tapping screws. As you can see, I mounted it above the vacuum canister thing (or whatever that emissions crap is underneath it)
I can't explain it really good and I sound like a retard but Oh well. I hope you know what I mean.
I then mounted it to the plate of steel using the hardware that came with the 6AL. Easy as pie. I didn't want to mount it to my shock tower like most people do, it looked sort of "crammed" in there.
Heres some more pix

Well...it does really look good....and I think I know what your talking about on how to construct a bracket to mount it. A guy could probably even mount it above that battery too..don't you think? Just make the same bracket and everything....

Great stuff so far, everyone. This is really going to help me out. I'd like some close-up shots, too, so I can see how the hoses and wire loom is laid out -- a few detailed pictures of the firewall would be good, too. Does anyone have some pics like that?

MPFI/TPI Firebirds have the battery on the driver side and the airbox on the passenger side. I have no idea where the tbi/carb firebirds have the battery.
Good lord you guys with A/C and emissions must have fun changing plugs on that passenger side
I'm guessing that most of you have to jack the car up to get at some of them...?

Wow, I really appreciate all of the pictures that everyone is providing for me. Vader, you're the man -- those labels are great!
Yesterday and today I've been tearing into the wiring for the engine systems... fuel injection doesn't seem so complicated now
. The previous owner did a wonderful job of making sure that all of the wires were properly connected when they swapped engines. I'm so fond of twisted wire with electrical tape covering it up
. You should've seen the fuel injector wires; those were pretty bad too.
If anyone's interested, here are two pictures of how I'm coming along. The first one is after I cleaned up the heater/AC wiring, and the second is a general shot of the passenger side of the motor. I think the engine compartment is going to look a hundred times better once I'm all done.
