Need help with a 96 Berretta
Hey guys, I need some help with a 96 Berretta that I am looking to buy for a commuter. The owner said that the service engine light is on, and I was wondering if I could pull the codes like we can with our third gens. If so, how do you do it? Or is it OBD-II and I have to find someone with a scanner? Any help appreciated.
Swing by Autozone they'll pull the codes for you. Take the car for a "Test Drive" and stop in. They've got an OBDII scanner and as long as the store's not packed, they're more than happy to pull the codes for you.

I am looking at a 96 Z26 myself. Being a Berretta owner yourself have you had any problems with the car? Is there any thing I should look out for when I go to look at it? As you can see I hate buying used cars. I had a bad experience once and I do not want to end up with a car that I have to put a lot of money into.

well i had a warranty with mine, but not too many problems, 1 thing is the lower control arms/bushings wear out, check those, and i've heard stories about the intake gaskets leaking and i did have to have that done, those were the only major things i had done on my car, aside from normal wear and tear stuff, any other questions just ask

you might wanna check the beretta.net msg board and another thing to watch out for is water leaks. i'm fighting a nasty one right now which i think is actually a clogged hose for my a/c somehow putting the water that would normally just drip to the ground into my driver side carpet.
