Engine rebuild qustion please help

everything on my rebuilt motor minis the intake manifold , spark plugs, and oil pan is all put to gether. I have eldebroke heads that where slightly milled for a little more compression and the motor was bored .06 over. My qustion is how hard should it be to turn the motor over using the crank tool and a ratchet? if the vibration damper is on should i be able to turn it by hand?

My second qustion is what on my 87 305 motor will fit on this 89 350 motor? mainly i wanna no if the water pump, crank pully, and oil filter housing, and the rest of the accesorys including the power stearing pump will fit on the 350

please help me out im trying to put the rest of the motor together so i can start the swap

all the parts mentioned should fit. as far as turning over the motor, if you've got the entire short block assembled, then you should be able to turn the motor with a long handled ratchet with u're crank socket tool. The resistance should be very noticable, without the ratchet, you'll probably have a very hard time turning the motor with just your hands.
I wouldn't worry about how hard it is to turn over though. As long as you paid careful attention to proper clearances throughout the build, you'll have a happy, long-lasting engine.

im a little confused i no on 87 and older it is clockwise rotation and on 88 and newer it is counter clockwise rotation...if i use the accesorys from the 87 305 on the 89 350...if it fits...will i have to use the clockwise water pump then on the 89 350?

The "rotation" is in reference to the water pump, both motors spin the same way.

The sepentine belt waterpumps are "reverse" rotation, not sure what you're '87 was setup like, but if you're swapping all '87 stuff onto the '89, no worries, everything will spin correctly.
