aluminum head torque sequence the same as iron?

wondered if there was anything different about torquing the heads to the motor when running aluminum heads. specifically torque specs, not really the sequence as i assume the pattern will be the same. running a stock 113 casting aluminum vette head.

Sequence = same.
I just take a couple more steps in the process... usually about 5.

Are those steps hidden behind a very well guarded door, or could you share them with us?

I just mean I break the total torque down into 5 torqing steps.

for example, if the total will be 50 lb ft per bolt, then maybe go 10 lb ft on each bolt and then start the sequence over adding another 10 lb ft.. etc.
That's all I meant.

lol, no, he was giving a easy example of steps.

you need to follow the TQ specs that match your bolts.

if you're using GM bolts, you can follow the haynes manual specs.
if you're using ARP bolts, follow thoes specs that came with the bolts.
if you're using some other companys bolts, follow thoes specs that came with the bolts.

the torque specs ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS go with the bolts or studs.

Same sequence,I usually go 70lb.ft. on aluminum,I go in 3 steps,30,50,70lbs.,and ALWAYS retorque aluminum heads.You'd be amazed how much you can tighten aluminum on a retorque.
