Re: Toxik's Build

Update on rims is they will be black with black centers ,with the corvette logo painted red. update on car. I stated a new job so I have been working to get some money together to fund my obsession.I was going to bring it to the shop this past friday, but they did not have room to store it inside over night so they did not want to take it. I have alot of ideas floating around in my head on the apearance aspect of it.

should I buy a used ac delete box or a new ac delete box from http://acdelete.com/pages/82-92_F-body.htm

I am in the procces of cleaning up wires in the engine bay, you all know how messy they get. I would like to have one of those clean bays that people oogle at, and over all just less junk thats not being used now.

For body wise. I am thinking of painting my hawks 5'' spoiler ( with sequensail 3rd brake light led) and the scoop of the ss hood the old challanger black the one that was almost textured forgot the name of it.
filling in the badge holes and the rear line on the bumper.

engine wise. I WOULD like to turn it into a fully forged bottom end and making it a 383ci. but I don't see that happening anytime soon, so I am going to just try and get her running flawlessly.

interor0 new momo wheel, new acc black carpet, new seats.and Illl finish this post later going to the bar now wooohoo time for a BEER.

Re: Toxik's Build

I thought all molded carpet was in two pieces.I am not sure on what brand carpet I will go somthing that is good. My carpet is not bad now I would just like it to be fresh to match the other parts.

~ SIDE NOTE~
I do have alot of stock parts for sale and some aftermarket parts. so the quicker I sell though The faster I can get these projects done.

~~
I Have afew electrical problems I am struggling with:

1. when I put my turn signal (right signal) one of my headlights turns off. (HID'S) it looks like the turn signal indicator doesnt fully turn off like it looks like its just barly on.

2. my batt goes dead frequently. I am having trouble finding where I have an electrical draw or bad ground.

3. I don't want to pay a shop to take their DVOMS and tests lights to the car hours on end. and I am not too good at electrical stuff

4. waiting on a buddy to teach me how to tune my 5chl amp

5. on my drivers door the power door lock switch has 3 wires i belive their is a blue wire. it got loose and fell off and I am not too sure where it goes? does anyone know?
~
I purchased a used rear view mirror ( the ones with the map lights on it, instead of the auto dimming one since it doesnt work due to the heavy tint I have. Does anyone know how to wire it up that those lights come on when the doors open up?

For the locking bose panel I purchaed a new NOS lock cylinder so I Could have it fit my door lock key. one more thing I have to find out how to do.

I am sure their is more, I just can not remeber at this point.

what do all you third gener think?

Re: Toxik's Build

Heya,Its a shot in the dark here but i had a similar issue with the signal thing awhile back and found a bad ground near the headlamps.Give the grounds a look in front of where the battery would be on both the passenger and drivers side.Commonly knocked loose imo.Hope it helps.

Not sure on the electrical stuff, but if you upgrade the fuel system just get a good pump kit from racetronix or similar.

BUT

on my jeep I play with it all the time and it holds up good peals off with not too much effort.

my chick painted a heart with crossbones on my drivers door( the looks from everyone was priceless) like the ppl drivin next to me and friends had no idea it comes off.

Re: Toxik's Build

Ok so you guys wanted a real update so here is one

Today
I put my door panels back on, put on my door lock actuators ( after having some difficulty getting the rivets to stay in. I just bolted it in.

I ended up breaking the power door button....so guess I'll order a new one tonight.

I took out some extra wires in the engine bay. yeppo I had extra wires..
Took out the hood light wiring,(light hasnt been on car since i got ss hood) crusise contrle( who uses that anyways)

cleaned up more wires, zip-tie style till I can cut em out ( wana do some searching before I cut some wires out that are actauly needed)

Found the lil gremlin, that was causing the weird turn light signal issue. After some testing found out that it was just one of my connectoin points where my hids plug into the car harness. It was resting on the frame causing it to short out. so taped it up and now it works well.

Now all I have left

1.Tune amp

2.Fix power antenna( the gears are stripped I believe , it just turns and turn and doesn't shut up)

3. Clean up engine bay( still way to cluttered and to many wires all around)
4. get lock cylinder (for Bose panel in the trunk) keyed for my door lock keys.
5. Install rear view mirror with the 2 mapp lights instead of the auto dimming one I have on their now.
6. install headliner, plastic covers on the top and a/b pillars ,install sun visiors
7. fix and install wiper system( half off car)

list of stuff to buy

ac delete box
power door lock button- driver side

its been a long day so sorry if things are not described well as they should be.

Re: Toxik's Build

I don't think I mentioned it. But I had one that was stock on her. It is broken it just goes "wirrrrrrrrrrrrrr" so I unplugged it the day it started doing that, i had a power antenna that I purchased it for a killer deal along time ago, so figured I could swap it out when mine broke wich ended up happening.

I am not quite sure what you mean by your question though

Sylvania and SuperBrightLED's says its a 906 bulb. What your describing is a festoon bulb I believe, which is not a 906___

Re: Toxik's Build

Ok,so I AM finnaly back from cali !

I tired to work on my camaro yesterday but I ran into a problem with trying to figure out how to install my abs headliner. I can not figure out how to thread the seat belts thought the hole that's already their. I perfer not to cut it and make it look like crap

anyone know how to do it?

AC/ delete is going on tomorow, power lock going in, new pigtail, antena is being replace tomorow...

I would like to get this headliner issue taken care of so I can put my a&b pillars on and the black plastic rectangle and my sunvisors.

once I get enough money saved I will buy a full rebuild kit (for the 700r4) from dana @ pro built automatics.

ok doesnt the headliner have a slit so that the belt can go through it and then you straighten it out?

This one does not. It just has holes cut out where the seat belt,a square for the dome light ( even though I have the over head console, and two holes for the sunvisors. it is all covered by the fabric, I Do not want this to look like a hack job. I do not know the best way to fix this issue....ugh

Re: Toxik's Build

it sounds like the just forgot about the seat thing. id say contact them and ask otherwise pull out a nice sharp nice cut the cloth carefully, peel that back then make a small incision in the plastic with a dremel or whatever. then reglue the fabric back on or something.

I do not rember where I got it from( I had it stock piled for a while..... I Contacted 1aauto to try and get their instructions on how to do it, so hopefully I will get a responce back, I also looked on hawks site, those instructions do not say anything about the seat belt issue. I think i got it from them but I am not sure.

yeah if they dont have an idea then i guess you have to carfully cut and remove. just dont cut too much because you can glue some of it back together

Re: Toxik's Build

I find cutting little X's in the fabric to make holes is best, this way all the material is still there and once you push (or whatever) the piece needing the opening through, you can better measure where to cut exactly. Myself, I always leave extra carpet on the edge to either tuck up and in or roll into a crevice. Have fun, glad to see your back.

Re: Toxik's Build

Ah, slit, I get it now that I went and looked at mine. Here is mine, driver and passenger side. Factory headliner. Hope this helps.

Edit: On the second picture, where the center part is clean, a piece of plastic goes over it. This is what hides the slit, so nothing shows. Do you have this piece of plastic anymore, that attaches to the sail panels and goes through the seat belt and covers the big square hole in the headliner? You can see the clean/dirty outline around the slit and where the seat belt hole is that the plastic piece covers. This is the piece I am talking about.

700R4 is still dead, I have been saving for a re-build kit from dana @ pro built automatics or Just take that money and use it for a t56 set up.

Can't do any work on the camaro at the apt complexe....unless it is late in the pm..( when lady that bitches at me would be asleep....)

slowly stocking up on things I need.

found myself a job fixing vending macheins so money is finally coming in.

uhh

if anyone would like to wrench at late hours for an hour or so to help out that would be kinda awsome...... pm me if ya do.

also I have been selling off all the old parts too to make abit more room in my shed and soften the blow of the new parts.
