my key looks like all the other 3rd gen keys... it has vats and its square wrapped in the leather/pleather plastic..BUT it has the cadillac symbol on it. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!!?? i just found this key under my rear carpet and decided to try it for kicks AND IT WORKED. hahah is this a one of a kind deal? anyone else have this? it dosnt appear to be modified or made. it looks factory. ima post pics later today.

 

Maybe someone used a Caddy key blank to cut one for your car.

Check to see if your vats hasnt been bypassed chip in key might be there but if vats bypassed key would work.

 

Does the Caddy key have a VATS resistor in it?

No reason you couldn't buy a Caddy key blank & have it cut to fit.

 

You have the car since new? Maybe the last owner throught he was a pimp or something and got it cut to show his friends?


[edit] Not saying that everyone who drives a Caddy is a pimp, just chumps that get Caddy keys cut for other cars.

 

dosnt matter now.... I put the car into two pine trees doing 70 on sunday night. now no key starts it. problem solved.

honestly the most idiotic thing ive seen all year. im pretty sure the rarity of camaros has little to do with the rarity of your bird. could be wrong but they are 2 completley diffrent model cars... just the same fbody and drivetrain options made by the same manufacturer. if all camaros suddnley burst into flames.... that wouldnt make firebirds any rarer. FAIL. and i love how you made it sound like i hit the trees on purpose. the real reason was i was trying to distance myself between the earth and idiots like you. thats why. I have the same Cadi key for my Formula. Thats the way I bought it. Thats the key they gave me. I always thought it was weird myself.

I ate at Chili's for lunch today. You can buy a blank key with the a red pepper on it, just like the Chili's logo.

I'm just saying that, because you could get any blank key with a logo on it, and have it cut to fit your car.

(just the pepper on the key, not the lettering)
