Throttle sticking
Ok, here is the deal. My 1991 tpi 350's throttle feels like it is sticking. This only happens after a long trip or two or three WOT runs. Could it be a bad throttle body? or is it a bad cable? I cant decide.LOL. I also thought since it only happens under conditions that produce heat like a long trip or WOT that it could be the coolant flowing through the throttle body. Any ideas anyone??

Re: Throttle sticking
What I mean by sticking is that the car stays in each gear way way too long.

Re: Throttle sticking
Late shifts would be a transmission problem, not a throttle body problem.

Re: Throttle sticking
What is the little valve or the thing on the trans where my tv cable hooks onto called? I think the prob IS in the transmission. I see a little fluid or oil leaking from that little valve.

Re: Throttle sticking
I guess, I have to back under there and look again. I am assuming that is what it is. It is under the driver's side on the transmission.

Re: Throttle sticking
Well, it only does it in the 1 to 2 shift. Using drive 1 and 2 is fine. Isn't the car quicker when you leave it in drive though?

Re: Throttle sticking
It is a little high, but it has been that way for some time now and just recently did it start getting stuck between gears when in the d position and shifting into second under WOT. The car just doesn't feel as powerful and doesn't chirp tires with the tv cable adjusted to softer position.

Re: Throttle sticking
How do you adjust the tv linkage? you are talking the linkage on the trans itself right? I did adjust the linkage on the throttle body. Pushed in the cable as far as it would go and then held open the throttle to WOT. and let it adjust itself 3 clicks. Feels about right. Still gets stuck when i leave it in the drive position at WOT , only between 1 st and second gear though. If you let up slightly on the gas when this happens it will finally shift. Like i said , it didn't start this until recently, regardless of the tv cable.

Re: Throttle sticking
No, I am saying only at WOT,with the car;'s trans in the regular drive position. It goes click, click, click, clunk and just seems stuck! LOL. In the drive 1 and 2 it shifts fine under WOT, the rear slides sideways like it should!
