Me vs 91 Talon

So i got the idea to start a Drag club at UofA. im trying to get people who are interested in meeting up and talking about it. So last night i meet this guy who I've been talking to alot about this club. He said his talon was highly modified and when its done would run low 12s. He just rebuilt the engine has about 1000miles on it with 12lbs of boost, running rich, and has all kinds of shiny tubing for the turbo and huge intercooler on it, no back seat. Once he gets it tuned it will be pushing 18lbs and alot faster so i hear. So far he claimed hes pulled on some LS1s stock and maybe exhaust, and a few other random cars around here.

Anyway, we meet up a little ways from Campus on some quiet roads and figure to give them a go. He said lets just go from a roll because i told him im traction limited on launches and hes AWD soooooo not exactly a great race and i would get slaughtered. So we both have passengers and start out on the first run at about 15mph little low than what i like but sure(6speed) he instantly put a car on me and it stays there to about 90mph where no one is gaining or losing and i just let off. I think he got the car from my 1st-2nd shift cuz i spin a little. 2nd run we start at 40mph 2nd for me sweet spot, we hit it i start to pull ever so slightly, I dunno i must have been hitting the shifts nice! but by 100mph area hes at my front fender with me leading by a little and we shut off. So for a little fun we go from a stop lol. Green light me getting a little sideways, him....3-4 cars ahead lol so i gave up that chase fast.

Overall the dude was really cool and im just hopeing we get this Club goin cuz that would be sweet. Im pretty happy with my car so far.
Thanx for reading this ahha

Nice, the really challenging races that are so close like that are the best. Nice kill, nice car.

Will it be like a Club Clash deal? I did that for two years and want to get back into it. I love the track.

Club Clash is where you get a bunch of guys together and give yourself a team name. It was usually one or two Fridays a month and that was Club Clash night. You go to the track and race all the other teams. You can't race anyone else on your own team (therefor you can't knock each other out either) until there is no one else left to race. It's just bracket racing between clubs. Very fun event, but you can't win money, just for pride.

Friday Night E/T series on the other hand are every man for himself and you can win money each night, and at the end of the season.

Nice race and nice car.

I got my hands full with stock Talons a modded one will tear me apart. As it stands right now I can only beat an AWD Talon by 1 full to 1/2 car length If I do everything perfect (launch, shift, etc....).
