SHOs are decently quick cars. I have wanted one for a daily and debate selling my 2.3 for an MTX.

If this helps any, there is a SHO by my house. He had a 10.1 1/8 time on his window. It sounds like it has an exhaust too.

yea its for a daily/beater i wouldnt ditch my firebird i love the thing wayyy too much. but ive seen what they are capable of and i found a nice deal on one that is an offer i cant refuse. but i think he was stock the one i raced or he had a y pipe only when he ran the 1/4 in 14.5 i believe it was i know it was mid 14s. o wait he had solid motor mounts a kevlar clutch and the y pipe thats it. ive driven the car and have rode in it a lot and it is a comfortable car. yes i know its a ford but hella nice sleeper i must say if someone doesnt know about them like i didnt. my 305tbi just isnt enough for me and upgrading is too much plus i need a nice fwd winter beater/daily

you just have a bad motor in your car. and L03 is not a muscle car. L98 isnt all that either but its a start.

get a 350 or bigger motor and built it up some. then you wont need to worry about SHO's and other cars

Either way ...My L03 were I to own an L03, my L03 if I imagined I owned an L03, my L03 if I was oblivious as to what engine the L03 was and thought I owned an L03, or his L03, the SHO's putting out some good numbers. Stock L03'll have trouble.

I have heard about that SHO a lot. Kis thinks its a lot more basa$$ than it really is. And judging by the 14.5 (Im sure there was more done than the mods he tells you, where did he run that also?) it has been built up a lot more than it can back up. Oh well another 14 second turnpike racer Im sure...

But I do like SHOs!

are they fast....NO, but they arnt terriably slow. My buddys' bone stock sho ran a 14.9, they move pretty good once they get into there powerband (4k and up).

Thats enough to beat a lot of us 3rd gens

the sho are nice but the king of used mid size American family cars has to be a car with a supercharged 3.8

The SHO is severly limited on power output when the third gear spider gear in the transmission shatters as reliably as Old Faithful after you reach the power threshold.

i owned one several years ago. it was fun, most people didn't know what it was so you could suprise a lot of folks. had a bunch of fun with a mustang gt one nite.

fast, not really, but decent.

i think the early ones with the 5 spd were the quickest.

yea the one im getting a deal on is the 89 which is suppossed to be the fastest year they made them. and i WAS friends with nick with the silver SHO on the pike and i knew his mods. all it was was a stock 3.0L with over 100k miles 5 speed, solid motor mounts, kervlar clutch, y pipe, removed the air filter, thats it nothing else. ask a someone that really knows about SHOs there are a few freakish ones that hit 14s stock. and the y pipe alone on those cars makes sick *** power i think its 20hp. the kid did think his car was kickass but you have to admit for damn near close to stock it is. you dont expect that huge car to going flying past you.

my dad has the L98 IROC and ive driven it before and i know the difference in power. the L98 isnt even close to my little LO3 i can floor it and he can maybe half throttle and hell fly past me. man i love his car and the SHO would be a nice match for a stock L98 and would just eat all the others even with mild mods. the powerband in the SHO is so long i think its either 3 or 4k-7K rpms so its really nothing to laugh at.

and i cant touch my LO3 cause it only has 50k miles on it and my dad wont allow so my thought was get a quick winter beater
----------
and i also have vids of the silver SHO racing and ive been in the car while racing. it beat a modified GTP with a smaller pulley, upgraded ignition, cold air intake, and a catback without cats i believe. the SHO and this kid were even every race and both were going all out.

then i have a video of the SHO vs a 01' mustang GT 4.6L 5 speed. the mustang had a catback and intake on it. they raced to like 120 and the SHO stayed ahead by about a car.

they are a good 14 second car with some mods, but aftermarket for that car really sucks, and yes the y-pipe on that thing sucks, but man they want a arm and leg for a new one

Yes that kid Nick has quite the BAD reputation because he has taken down a few average cars... beating a newer GT by a car is alright, but nothing special. I guess the fact I have ehard sooo much about this car, and it really is nothing a mild bolt on anything would take down.

Im not going to worry about pulling up next to it (I was actually told once, he would beat me, HAHA )

Personally Id love to own a 93-95 MTX SHO, but just dont have the means to sell one car to buy another!
