I haven't had time to upload these to my website so I'll just post the final product here for now. I've got plenty more pics that will be on my website hopefully in a couple weeks. This is the completion of Project Power - Phase One...

And the TB polished up...too bad it will probably never be seen:

 

And the last one...the beginning of Phase Two. This is just the outline of the flames. The finished product (of which I'll have pictures of in a couple days) will not have a definate dark outline, but instead a pearl coat...ghost flame type effect:

The engine looks really clean. I'm not a big fan of flames on third gens though IMHO.

Irocker!! How did you get your runners and plenum like that? Is that paint/polish or both????

Next winter I plan on polishing my plenum.....

Looking sweet IROCKER!!!! Almost as good as my polishing job just kidding chief.. I like it a lot!!! You know what you and me both need now? A nice set of valve covers.

87ROCZ: A lot of sanding to get everything smooth and then several coats of VHT hi-temp paint. I thought about the polishing but I don't have as much patience as Nathan.

Nathan: Thanks...And I couldn't agree more. I saw a set of chrome GMPP centre bolt valve covers a few months ago and now I'm kicking myself for not bidding on them.

 

Now that is a labour of love. The engine detail is fantastic ! NICE, NICE work !

BTW: don't forget to get a can of black to spray bomb the wheel wells otherwise the overspray may show.

I checked out your link...sweet. Those covers would look awesome with that engine. Do they have Pontiac covers like that, and if so, what kinda money are we talkin'?

 

Ahhhh yes, you are lucky you drive a chevy, cause us pontiac guys can't put chevy valve covers on, cause it'll look out of place.

theres a parts shop in KW that has crome covers that are stock for about $80

Nope, strictly for the track. You'd be better off going with a set of KYB's or something.

 

Hey IROCKER, I was browsing my CarCraft mag when I came across this pic with the valve covers. The engine is a GMPP 385 SB. Sweet...

 

Very sweet...nice ceramic coating on the headers too!
