Gunk inside TPI... how do i clean it out?

Yeah, I took off my intake a few days ago to do some porting and polishing to it. There's a lot of carbon buildup in there though and it's gummy like it's been mixed with grease. How do I clean that crap out? I could just put it back on like that but I have to clean out the inside of my plenum and runners anyway because of the aluminum dust particles built up in there after the porting and polishing. TIA for any help.

Fred

i used carb cleaner to spray mine down. I have seen a pic of runners that were filled with cleaner and let sit for a day or so. B-12 chemtool worked well. The gumout carb cleaner did not work as well. HTHs

Try Valvoline's Synpower Throttle body and carb cleaner, works great.

you can use super clean on the plenum, it will work good, but dont let it sit ont here for to long because it will pit/ etch the aluminum.

Thanks a lot guys! I decided to go with B-12 Chemtool because that's all that my local Autozone had... It worked beautifully. 15 minutes and one set of runners were done. Now off to the plenum and the other runners. Can I let that stuff sit for awhile to let it soak or do I have to be quick about it when using it like the Castrol Superclean someone on here mentioned? Thanks again!
