Who rebuilds a TPI throttle body?
The bushings are shot in my throttle body causing the blades to hang open. So instead of spending an astronomical amount on a new one, I'd like to have this one fixed. Its already been bored out to 52mm, so thats a plus as well. I swapped my stocker back on this week and was amazed at the difference in how smooth the car drove now that the TB pivots normally.
I've done some searching on here and google with no real luck.
thanks

This guy in Texas took my stocker and rebuilt it along with a bore to 52mm and threw in an air foil for $200 or so. Check out if he would just do the rebuild part...

Any true carb rebuild shop should be able to bush your tb shaft and reset the blades in the bores properly

I would recommend contacting Dave Koldos, he's well respected due to his flawless work and reputation. He's in Elgin, IL. Email him at: dkoldos@ameritech.net
I believe he charges $175 for a complete rebuild which will last for a very long time.

What could be so hard about rebuilding a throttle body that requires a $175-200 charge? Does that include polishing it too?

Man, I haven't been to Howard Beach in a looong time! Is 'New Park Pizza' over on Crossbay still there?
What he wrote is correct. He's referring to the EGR's passageway in the throttle body. I too, initially thought he was referring to something electrical when using the word 'circuit' (that is, if this is the same impression that you received from it).

Heh, I haven't listened to KTU in a long time. When Joe Causi went to 102.7, I went too. And yes, New Park is still there.
At first I was thinking electrical, but then I realised that none of those electrical connectors are EGR, so he was referring to the passage. However, I was wondering why relocating that passage was even necessary. Does it interfere with the rebuild, or does he feel its better off somewhere else?

A friend of mine bores and rebuilds them with roller bearings instead of bushings. You can PM me and Ill give you his email if youre interested. Not sure about price, but without the labor for boring and cutting new blades, I would imagine it would be relatively cheap.

David Koldos has my vote!! He did an awesome job on mine including throttle plate bearings and the above metioned EGR provision.
I gave him my air foil prior to boring it out so that the new bore size ( 52MM ) would blend nicely with it installed.
Super nice guy to work with too!!!
See my attached pics.
