That would be a mono blade like an LS1 has, and no i know no one who's done this; it's also probably a bad idea because it would be more work than it would ever be worth.

Sounds like a plan, I know you can open the TB's up to mate more smoothly to the plenum and this could surely help out. What year throttle body do you have? You should port it and take some pics, maybe a sticky can be made of this.

i have a 88 GTA and i got the spare off of a i think it was an 89 formula 350 i was dumb when i took the throttle body i should have taken the hole manifold but i was dumb and when i went back for it they pulled the motor and crushed the car and the motor was sold but im goin to probily take pics when i do it and post them
TPIS makes the "Monoblade" that you describe. - WHY???? A stock TPi intake flows about 450 cfm, modded plenum w/ aftermarket base and runners abour 650-700ish. So why put a TB in front of it that way outflows(monoblade-1000+cfm) the intake itself. That'd be like putting a Dominator on a iron 2barrel intake. - The stock TB flows 780 cfm. 500hp small blocks are using 750cfm carbs, so I say again, why????The ony possible thing it could do for you is loose throttle response. How's that gonna help?

- thats cool. I wasn't trying to bash anyone, just trying to put out the facts. - You'll find unless you go over about 550hp(probably more), the stock TB will make just as much power, and you'll have a little more throttle response. - the LS1 is a very different motor, with a VERY different intake...when's the last time you turned your TPI over 6k making power?

umm the last time i hit 6 grand was a the strip in first but other then then not latly. i know the ls1 is totaly differnt everything but my thought was if one little port job helped that much on that i dont see y modding a tpi TB wouldnt do the same. i wont have more then 500 horse for another year so i was just looking for some cheep reactions out of the car for some more fun still in school not much money to play with
I'm guessing you have runners/base??? because stock only makes power to around 5k, so 6 would be pointless... - anyhow, if you go to the Holley web-site(or if you have the catalog) they have an equation for cubic in vs rpm = X cfm needed. Although it's intended for carbs, it's basically the same as efi. Actually, efi wouldn't need as much because you're only moving air, not air & fuel...

an 88 is not computer shifted. A 700R4 is governor shifted. - as for 6k, I'm guessing you're looking at a factoy tach huh? The highest of our stock GM shift points is 5200...That was only usually vette/gta/iroc, the rest were usually lower.
