Re: starter removal?

If the exhaust manifold is in the way the only way to get it out is by either taking the manifold completely off or loosening it and trying to work it off but when mine went the first time the whole manifold was removed. Now that I have headers it comes right off. That by itself made the headers a good investment.

Re: starter removal?

Remove the solenoid housing from the starter first, and you will get it out.

Re: starter removal?

I've never had to take any exhaust apart to get mine out... manifolds or headers. Just wrestle with it a little and twist it around and it will eventually come out. If that won't work, dropping the Y-pipe would be easier than taking the exhaust manifold off IMO....

Re: starter removal?

if youve never done exhaust work dont take off the manifold..... your bolts without being heated will likely snap causing irritating exhaust leaks so on....... anyways as others said it doesnt need to come out.... take a big pry bar and a block of wood and pry the y pipe over a little while youre wrestling it out.... they are a bit of a pain but no big deal...
