High Performance Throttle Body?

Besides the Hypertech chip i have id like to know some simple engine upgrades i could do to my tpi system. I have an MSD box, a 160 thermostat, hypertech chip. Eventually id like to install the edelbrock Hi flo system but it is out of my price range. I was wondering if a highperformance TB would do anything for me. And whats the largest Id be able to install with the stock plenum. Thanks

Re: High Performance Throttle Body?

The short answer? no. The stock TB isn't a bottleneck on TPI cars. For that matter, all of the cheap or free mods have very little effect.

yes it would, like it stated the bottleneck isnt the where the air comes in. Unless you plan on upgrading your entire tpi and porting you wouldnt need a bigger throttle body even then you still wouldnt gain much. What are your goals for your car?

Re: High Performance Throttle Body?

If anything cut out the bottom of the air intake box. This free mod will let more air into the engine and it works. You will pick up to .3 tenths and 1-2mph. Spend your money on the best upgrade mod which is the exhaust system. Dyno Dons headers and a dual catback Magnaflow exhaust system. Your car will run in the mid to low 13's.

Re: High Performance Throttle Body?

As far as exahust goes i have a complete exhaust from flowtech headers to a flowtech y pipe, flowmaster cat back exahust system, it is 3" from the y pipe to the tail pipes. I also forgot to mention my Richmond 3.73 gears and posi rear end and smaller crank pulley. Thanks to everyone and if anyone else can think of any performance upgrades let me know. thanks
