Almost all the parts are new IAC, MAP, Knock, oil pressure,TPS checks out i just changed out the Ignition module thinking that might be it....any ideas????

Re: WONT RUN AFTER TIMING WIRE IS RECONNECTED

When the wire is connected the ESC controls the signal for the spark.
None of that other stuff really matters.
I would re-verify that your base is actually 6* BTDC, and probably try another ESC module.

Re: WONT RUN AFTER TIMING WIRE IS RECONNECTED

I have checked and rechecked the base timing the distributer was brand new i did get a chance to check it for a min when it not running right and the timing jumps from 6 to 30's then to 6 again back and forth as its tring to stop running but like i said before with the plug disconnected you would think theres nothing wrong with it...

The ESC might be intermittently trying to work. I would check the connections to it and swap to another ESC like I said. You didn't mention what year and type ECM you are using. It should be easy to swap if your ESC is on the firewall.

What's the number on the outside of the ECM?
Sounds like it might be a 730.

Re: WONT RUN AFTER TIMING WIRE IS RECONNECTED

I would check for vacuum leaks the map can cause the timing to Fluxuate. Also you never mentioned all the modification made to the engine, maybe this is a lean condition and you need to raise the fuel pressure or step up the injector size.

The ESC system has nothing to do with it starting erratically. That is the knock detection and spark retard system.

Odds are is that the pickup coil to ignition control module (ICM) are reversed. When this is done the spark advance goes in the wrong direction once the ECM takes over. Instead of advancing it retards.

Swap the leads then re-time with the EST/BYPASS open, then see if it starts and runs with it closed.

Can also make a quick check by opening the EST/BYPASS and setting the timing to 20* BTDC. Then re-connect the EST/BYPASS and see if the engine starts and runs. If so...

Can also check the timing now and see if it retarded. If so...

RBob.

Re: WONT RUN AFTER TIMING WIRE IS RECONNECTED

btw, with the 1p 305 knock board will not work too well because of the improper frequency of the 350 engine. Although if they didn't set a aggressive timing curve no knock will happen. rbob would be able to answer any q's on that or a search here may uncover more info. A buddy of mine in Australia who does rh drive corvette conversions and tpi swaps doesn't even used knock sensors. Have fun on the dunes and enjoy all that hard work man.
