T-56 install problem

Ok thank you to the guys that helped me out i am now done with the clutch master cylinder mounting and i got the 700r4 out as well as the driveshaft and the torque arm....My question here is this, i wasnt aware that i had to modify my torque arm to get it to mount unto the t-56. So i have to eaither cut an inch and a half off the arm and then weld it which i dont see being able to do or get a new torque arm....So will a torque arm off of a 97 camaro or any 4th gen camaro with a t-56 fit in my 3rd gen???
thanks
James

look for the tech artical on the t56 install, it goes in to very good detail with what is needed for the swap. the stock or factory t56 from 93-97 f-body cars should not need any cutting of the torque arm and drive shaft but, if you have the retro fit one then yes you need to cut&shorten the torque arm and driveshaft. I think spohn has a torque arm and mount for the retro fit t56 if that is what you have.

If you have a 4th gen t-56, use your stock t/a. I had a spohn in mine, but pulled it out due to too many vibration problems and clearance with the d/s loop. Just get a poly t/a mount.

My 3rdgen poly torque arm mount works fine. Actually the whole torque arm mount for the t-56 is the same part that the t-5's have. I ordered one for my t-56 then when it came I compared the two, its the same part so I returned it.

So did I at one time, I just threw that in there for the guys that are going from a t-5 and are missing there torque arm mount off the t-56. But my ES polly bushing did fit all three transmissions

700R4's are differernt. I thought they were the same and told the guy I bought it from to keep it. Later I had to convince him that I let him keep it to have him find me one. I'm glad I kept it after I installed the spohn T/A. (Which very well may be for sale now, I'm going back to stock for a while)

I don't need it, and I just want to see if it is causing any of the vibration issues. Once I run into traction problems I go back to it.

All I would like to suggest is to get a good driveshaft. I think that is my main problem after going to the M6.
