will a 95 z28 rearend fit in a 91 Z28??

hello, i'm looking to convert from a drum rearend to a disc rearend. will a 95 z28 3.23 disc rearend bolt right up to a 91Z28. i'm looking for a direct replacement. any help would be great. thanks, tom

Engine: 5.0 TPI
Transmission: 700R-4
Axle/Gears: Posi Richmond 3.73
I was told by a salvage yard that it'll work, but the 4th gen rear is 2 inches wider than the 3rd gen.

you will have to use 4th gen rear wheels. If you use third gen wheels then yes they will rub on the fenders.

I was told that you could use third gen wheels, but they would stick out of the wheel well 2 inches.

i did this to my ta,if you use the third gen wheels they will stick out 2 inches,the 4th gen rear is 2 inches longer than the third gen

do you need adapter's for the 3rd gen wheels to fit the 4th gen rear axle? will the wheels stick out from the wheel wells, or still be inside the wells? thanks, tom

They will stick Out! you'll have to run a low profile tire as well
