Engine: 402 ls
Transmission: TH350
Axle/Gears: 9inch 3.50 gear
tailshaft shatterd?
has anybody every shatterd the rear tailshaft where the torque arm bolts on?only 40 miles on built 700r4 shatterd the tailshaft broke the driveshaft while cruising at 60mph in 4th gear

ok, that's not your tail shaft/housing that broke. that's the bellhousing! 
that normally happends cause you didn't have the bellhousing bolts torqued correctly.

also broke the tail shaft housing and broke the yoke off the front of drive shaft,rear end is not locked up,could it be internal problem in trans?

I would guess that you'll find Bad Things inside that transmission if you take it apart.
I just inherited one that looked just like that. Had a pump bolt come loose and come in contact with the tc at about 4500rpm on the bottle....the ribs in the TC grabbed the bolt and...well, it looks just like yours. Suprisingly, nothing internal was hurt.
- As for your's, either a problem was missed before/during assembly, or something is out-of whack.
list of somethings:
- driveshaft balance
- improper driveshaft length
- TC balance
- seriously f'ed u-joint
- bellhousing bolts loose
- TC not properly/fully seated into pump, bellhousing tightened against it
- ? trans internal

? - also, you sure it wasn't that the driveshaft took out the tail-shaft/housing?
