T5 issue

Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: 310 HSR, TFS heads, zz4 cam
Transmission: T5
Axle/Gears: 9 bolt 3:70
T5 issue

89 firebird formula tpi T5... When i try to start the car with the clutch fully floored the car tries to take off like the clutch isnt even pressed. wut is causing this, and how do i fix it?

sounds like you have a blown clutch slave or master cylinder . good luck .

you may need to replace the pilot bushing(or bearing). When it is cold it will grab the input shaft like the clutch is still engaged, after warming up it will operate normally

well it has been sitting for 5 months... could that have anythying to do w/ it.. because all of that is reletavely new approximately 5k miles on new clutch kit...

Check the fluid level first, it could have a slow leak somewhere. If it is leaking, I would bet it's the slave cylinder.

hey man yesterday i was having the same problem with the t-5. the clutch pedal was depressed to the floor but seemed that it wouldnt engage. so we put the car up on the jack stands and started in 1st gear, and then went through all five gears. some how that freed up the clutch up and we went rolling down the street.
