Hi, sorry about the earlier rambling freak out post. It seems the same issue I had 6 months age when the clutch needed replacing after 12 years now happened after only 6 months. The pivot ball got very worn around the edges and got the fork sliding into the bearing retainer shaft it rides on. At least it didn't break it off yet this time. The fork doesn't have that great of a smooth surface on the dip indentation where the pivot goes, but the not very hard steel of the pivot ball wears down really fast. It was well lubed with moly grease and only covered maybe 2500 light driving miles. Yikes!
Does anyone know how or where I can find the pivot ball for this 92 5.0 Camaro with a T5 that is harder steel like the one that was in before???
All I can find is the ATP-JX112 that I have in there now. I really need a better one desperately
At first I thought the TOB was damaged but it is apparently self aligning and seems to be working fine.
Any chance a better fork would help any?

Yeah, the first one looks like the same one I have now. I was looking at the Lakewood one but I think it only fits the Lakewood bell housing and the thread is different. Was going to check that out for sure tomorrow

After rechecking again, it only shows this part fitting up to the 91 Camaro. I thought the 91 and 92 cars and matching T5s were the same for 5.0s. Could there really be a difference? I guess I'll try and see if I can get an answer tomorrow. Does anyone know for sure that there is in fact a difference?

I would highly doubt they would have changed the thread pattern for the '92 model year. The clutch forks all appear to be the same so I bet the pivot ball is as well.
Could try searching for Mr Gasket 3855G. My 1998 Mr Gasket catalog says it's the same as the Lakewood 15501, lists it for ALL GM applications, and recommends it with all Lakewood bellhousings. Pretty sure I've got a 1998 Lakewood catalog around here somewhere too, but I'm not having much luck finding it. Autometer, Lunati, Milodon, Lingenfelter, Mr Gasket...
Oops, spoke too soon. Went to put the Mr Gasket catalog back on the shelf and found the Lakewood book. Not a ton of info, but there you go.
Well, I think their applications program is defective. It says this item has a 13/16 thread which fits older GM products but certainly not mine. Who knows.
Anyways, Camfire Dave on Ebay said he'd send me a nice used OEM one instead of the listed one. If that comes true I'll be a happy guy.

Hmm... Now I have to wonder if I've got a Hayes catalog on the bookshelf from 1998. LOL It's funny how Hayes, Holley, Lakewood, Mr Gasket, Hooker, and so on are all part of the same corporate conglomerate. I suppose as long as business is good, it's ok. But if the corporation takes a hit, they all take the hit. That and it seems like when these companies get assimilated product lines get dropped, products get cross-packaged, like the Lakewood stud in Mr Gasket packaging, and so on. At least the Hayes part doesn't appear to be the same physical part as the Lakewood/Mr Gasket.
You could always cut the stud off the ATP part, then drill/tap it 7/16-20 and thread in the Lakewood stud. AKA turn it into an adapter.
This seems like a good solution, but the Lakewood one mentions hardened steel. If the ATP part's steel is as cheap as it seems to me wouldn't that present a problem withstanding the pressure that the threads put on it during usage. Seems like they might not hold. Now I do still have my old original one that is much harder steel. IF I could get it tapped I would feel better about doing that.
