Getting the plug is easy. You just need a swivel and a few long extentions. GRAVY. My only problem with that plug is getting the boot on and off. My fingers need to be a little bit longer.

BTW, if you think that plug is hard, don't ever buy an LT1.

The easiest way I have found to get to that spark plug is to just follow the egr pipe down to the exhaust manifold. Unbolt the heat shield and pipe. Then unbolt the metal tube that it attached to the plenum on the side. Pull off the pipe and undo your spark plug. It only takes a few seconds to take that pipe off and it will be LOADS easier than trying weird extensions and swivels. Hope I was some help!

Amen, brother.

#2 is a real treat on those - almost as much fun as changing the distributor and rotor (done that, too).

Do it on a 1978 Monza with the V-8 option.
Just different length extensions & a plug socket & a wrench will usually take care of 99% of hard to reach plugs.

Heh, I did the plug wires on a '96 Impala and it took me 4 agonizing hours. We flagged 3 hours on the job. One of the RARE times that ACTUAL time was more that FLAG time.

Although it was my first time. I could defintitely beat 4 hours now.

ME=glad the LT1 only lived for 6 years.
