V6 to v8 motor mounts
Does anyone know if the umi 2409-b will mount up to moroso #91605009 i have both ends of the moroso mounts i would prefer to not drill my frame to make it work but if I need to drill is there a template for this mount setup? the part number for the ones i have is 545-62630 on speedwaymotors
Setup im doing is 1985 berlinetta v6 putting in a 1970 400 sbc if that helps any other details needed I can answer

You don't have to drill any holes for factory mounts (they're already there), so why would you have to do that for Moroso mounts?
In any case, I don't know why you would want solid motor mounts...

Re: V6 to v8 motor mounts
the k member mount doesn't line up with any of the stock holes even though the moroso mounts are "for" our cars measured it too so I probably just got it slightly wrong but reading the description now I realize it's just the wrong bottom as for why I personally use solid mounts on a lot of my vehicles I have so just personal preference really are there other mounts you think would be better than solid?

Re: V6 to v8 motor mounts
As for the motor mount debate, I wouldn't run solid motor mounts. Generally, with solid motor mounts a person would run either a rubber transmission mount or no transmission mount. However, Third Gens have a torque arm connected to the transmission, and for the Torque arm to do its job and prevent pinion movement, a stiff transmission mount is recommended.
Now, There are two options. a person can solid mount the engine and rubber mount the transmission, but give up some control of pinion rise and possibly introduce wheel hop. The second option is to poly mount the transmission and rubber mount the engine. This will soften engine vibration, but can cause unwanted engine movement, dependent on how stout the engine is. A chain limiter on the driver side motor mount will fix this issue.
TLDR: you can't solid mount everything without breaking parts. With the torque arm connected to the transmission, solid engine mounts can introduce wheel hop.

Re: V6 to v8 motor mounts
If you don't think stock motor mounts are good enough, go with polyurethane. There are threads here about transmission mounts;
about half of the thirdgens with poly transmission mounts experience vibration at highway speeds while the other half don't.
The trans mount is easy enough to replace that you can try a poly mount and can always switch it to stock rubber if there's a problem...

Re: V6 to v8 motor mounts
I'm assuming that you have moved the torque link off the transmission using a torque arm relocation kit? if not, the relocation kit will need to be installed.

Re: V6 to v8 motor mounts
I have not just picked up the th350 today. What all will I need for it to be an easy install? also I had heard the linkage and all mounting points are the same as the th350 I knew you had to do that for the th400 though. Also for anyone stumbling across this thread the lower mount should say v-8 and v6 on the moroso box
