Oil pan help
I am putting a 400 block into my firebird and am trying to find an oil pan that will fit. I really like the canton 244, but 350 is way out of the budget.
I searched the moroso 20190 and cannot find a deffinent answer if it will fit or not. So I was wondering if anyone has ran one and if it clears the k member on the f body. If not what would be a decent priced pan to go with? I wanted at least a 6 to 7 quart capacity. So the moroso 20180 seems like an option too. Also I am running slp shorties with the y pipe.

Re: Oil pan help
It'll be a real tight fit if you run the exhaust pipe between the sump and the crossmember. Depending on the headers you have, if you have edelbrock shorties and possibly other brands, it'll be a PITA to fabricate a pipe that rounds the lower corner of the sump. The KC4 engine oil cooler will not fit anymore, if so equipped. you will not even be able to spin on the shortest filter available. That's why the canton has the notch. It may be a lot more money but it's a much better pan. My buddy should have gotten that one also and he regrets getting the moroso. The little money he saved was more than offset by the additional time fabbing up the exhaust

Re: Oil pan help
That would be great. Since 400 has the dipstick on drivers side. How does the dipstick enter on the passenger side?

Re: Oil pan help
Do I need the pan pickups summit suggests with the canton 244? Can't I just use a normal pickup off the pump? Or would that defeat the purpose?
