Got mine a little over a year ago sophomore year, age 16. It should be done by the end of spring. It started life as a 2.8 700R4 and it's starting it's new life with a vortec 383 T56.

If you are looking for more leg and head room you could also swap to a deeper floorpan (not that difficult and pretty cheap) but as far as fourth gen seats being lower than third gen seats its not...
