Re: Movies, Films, and Appearances starring Firebirds and Trans Ams!!!!

I'm surprised no one mentioned the thirdgen Trans Am from Force III, 1980's tv series. Wish I could find a pic of it, seems any site that would have had it is down, though. It kinda looked like what...

LSA and CCC systems; cam advice?

Hi all, i'd like some feedback on how far one could deviate from the stock 112* LSA with the Rochester CCC system, provided everything's in proper function, which mine still is. I found some random...

Re: dual fans working together

I did something of the sort awhile ago on my former TPI car. The secondary's temp sensor in the head was bad, but the relay was fine. I disconnected the green relay ground wire off that sensor, and...

Re: Lets play name that wire!

I hope someone else can give you a clearer answer, but i'm remembering fixing the fans on my '88 tpi car; the driver's side fan had a relay that was grounded by the ecm at around 220*, pass. side had...

The '91/'92 hatch light comes with it's own set of problems, though; it hangs down a little bit into your line of sight looking thru the rearview mirror, and the bulb socket seems to want to...

Re: Trip Meter Illumination on '85 T/A

You've likely got something burned out or missing. Both my '84 (same mechanism, different face design) and a friend's '85 gauges are perfectly visible in the dark. However, both of us had to repair...

Re: Good first car for me?

I kinda have a dumb superstition about buying used cars in general, although it seems to have applied with the four thirdgens i've owned and wrenched on, plus the 10+ other used cars i've had: If it...

Re: Strangest engine and transmission combination seen in a thirdgen?

Years ago, a fellow car club member picked up an '86 TA at an auction that for whatever reason, had a 289 with a T-10 swapped in place of the LB9/700r4. Rather unremarkable, it got parted out later.

Re: HVAC switch permanent fix. No more hissing!

Looks like you found the vac line for the heater core bypass valve, which would explain why it hissed when the temp was bumped up warmer; later cars had a secondary valve and vac line that opened to...

It almost looks like the type of flange-plug that would be on either the knock sensor or the fan sensor. Did you see what color the wire is leading into it? I couldn't tell from the pic.
