a lot of them were an after thought. i think it depended on whether the car was converted by the factory, or by the dealer. the 3rd gen TAs and Camaros here have funky mirrors and aftermarket Toyota...

if your car is an automatic, add a relay and connect it to the wiring that controls park. that way it will not allow you to accidentally open the trunk or roof without placing the car in park first.

the switch does release the top, not the trunk. however, i replaced my switch with a spare power window switch and added the trunk wiring. rocking it forward releases the top, and rocking it back...

700R4 gears don't fit a T5. Also, I am on a military base in Japan, so there is nothing in my area at all. The only place I can get parts is the internet.

the metal shaft gear is not for a T5. it is for a TH350 transmission. a lot of people get confused, because the 350 gear will work in a T5, however you have to change the housing to the longer 350...
