No it could be that its cold and oil is thicker when its cold have u tried and let it warm up at engine temp and check. It should drop back down. Mine since i live in ks runs lil over 60lbs when its cold when its normal temp it runs around mid 30s

Try changing your oil first as sitting is still bad on oil. Also is it that high after the car warms up or when you first start it?

Re: Why High oil pressure any suggestions?
I am having the same problem. I bought my car after sitting in a garage for 14 years. When the car is cold or warm it runs at 60 psi. It drops to 30 psi when I stop at a light. I have been through several oil changes so i do not believe its bad oil. Some people are saying to replace the sending unit? I dont know much about cars and i dont see it in my Hayes book. Is that the silver canister looking thing above the oil filter?
