86 LG4 VS 99 V6 stang

Alright this went down a few weeks ago. A really good friend of mine has a 99 V6 stang, AOD, completely stock.. I have a 86 Iroc LG4, 700r4, with 3.23's, completely stock....
well we were up at our high school, hangin out waiting for something to do, well we have never ran each other, So we decided to go...we lined up, then went....Off of the line, I look over, and we are dead even....It was door handle to door handle, then when it came time to shift from 2nd to 3rd, my tranny decides it just wants to hang and not shift, so the victory went to the Stang.
But thats ok because we are going to race again sometime soon ( i will post results) and hopefully my slushbox can get around the shift delay......but either way, it was a fun race, knowing no sh*t talking goes down...

Sounds good. The new V6s arent too bad, but being an auto it is most likely a 16 second car. I think you should get him if the tranny works right.

We rented a 2000 V6 stang when we were on vacation last year and boy that thing was a dog! I thought for....what 170hp?...it would pull more than it did.

well, my tranny seems to shift early, so i like to manually shift in order to reach the peak rpm for each gear..... i'm not a pro racer, i'm just going on information i've got from friends...
