Well I haven't had my car long but I never even tried the cruise until I was on the way home buying it. I thought I would give it a try and to my amazment...it works and works well. I was really surprised. I think there is a sponsor on here who sells parts for cruise controls. I may be wrong though. Sorry for the long answer. I could have just said "Mine works"
Most of the time, the switch in the turn signal stalk goes bad, and it will cost around $60 to replace the thing. There is a tech article on this. After I repaired my switch, it worked just fine, until I took the switch panel out.

mine works, but is kinda goofy. You gotta hold the switch for a couple of seconds for it to kick on. If you just press it, and let off the gas, it will pick up after you drop 7MPH or so. I just keep my foot on the gas while I wait for it to kick on, but after its on it works great from there.
Mine works 100% perfect. Make sure that the vacuum vent line on the brake switch is connected and holds vacuum, that's a common problem. Also make sure that all of the vacuum feed lines to the orb of power and cruise control servo are good. The line tends to deteriorate at the orb of power and that will cause in-op cruise control too.
