Check your clearance. Chances are you'll be fine with a stock pan.

Re: stroker oil pan??

That would be great if I had a stock pan but I started this build with a 383 bare block, either way I need to buy one. I was thinking something along the lines of a moroso street/strip pan. Are guys running them on thirdgens?

Re: stroker oil pan??

I got a steel stock style pan for a 400 from Summit on my 2pcRMS block with stroker crank and stock rods. Worked fine on mine.

Re: stroker oil pan??

Canton makes a nice one . I have the 2 piece seal version and my friend has the 1 piece version. It's called the 82-92 body road race pan. It runs about $360 on cantons site. Goodluck.

Re: stroker oil pan??

Unless you run bigger rods like H-beam or want to use a windage tray you can get by with a stock pan.

Re: stroker oil pan??

Even H-beams might clear. I have Eagle 5700B3D's and I didn't have trouble with a stock pan. YMMV.

SCAT H beams on my 383 ( 1 pce ) and stock pan
If anything the H Beams clear better because of the smaller head cap screws they use
Also have full length Moroso tray ; just adjusted tray height on the ARP threaded mounting studs to give air gap clearance from crank throws

Yes.. thats what Im lookin for. http://www.cantonracingproducts.com/...on&key=15-244T And yep Ill be using 6in. H-beam rods. For $360 it would be really cool if it came with the pump/pickup.

Re: stroker oil pan??

have run a few diff 383s. canton makes a few pans that are under $210 from summit 6qt kick out styl that fit the 82/92 camaro
Milodon also makes a few that fit.
the price is also under $210

all are made to fit 1 piece and made to fit 2 piece (diff part #)
you can also pick out the dip stick side.

the thing to remember is know what block your going to use first.

expl: i have one for sale now. the new 427 is way to big to fit the Milodon pan that was on the last 383.
Milodon pan 2 pc main pasng side dip stick 7QT.side kick out. lots of grnd clearance
Milodon oil pump pick
Milodon windage try
Milodon main bolts for windage try.
this set was on a lingenfelter stage 5 383. in my 92 Z28.
was posted a few months back Cheap! less then 1/2 price.

Or something close to it. Is this not a good setup?

Re: stroker oil pan??

That's the pan I use. Works good.

My engine was a stock block, 3.875" eagle 4340 and 6" eagle h beams. I wish I got it for $300.. haha.

Oh and once you have a filter filled, you have 6 quarts total. I spun mine to 7500rpm. I also used The Canton pickup and a melling high volume pump. I never seen oil pressure drop, even while slamming the brakes at 140mph after the stripe.
