Cupholder Options. A Compilation of Ideas

Over the past year since i bought my Camaro I have been dealing with the never ending lack of a cup holder issue. I have seen several great ideas for cup holders, and I figured it would be great to have all of them organized in one spot. So I have compiled a list of threads with solutions to the great cup holder dilemma. Feel free to add more links or ideas to the thread.

Did you miss the factory cup holders? I'm not going to look through all those threads, but it sure looks like the OEM 90-92 Firebird cup holders aren't in the list.

I did not include the factory Firebird cup holders. However the last link i posted from JCWhitney appears to be a similar door cup holder.

A fourth gen console comes with either 3 or 4 cup holders depending on the year/make.

Also I dont know if it was in any of your links but you can use a Ford Taurus single din cup holder if you relocate the radio.

The JCWhitney link is dead. It takes you to the JCWhitney.com homepage. Also the storage rack they show looks like it'll hold a 12oz can, but the stock Firebird cup holder will swallow a 44oz Magnum. I wouldn't really recommend anyone go for the Firebird cup holders, but then I wouldn't recommend 99% of the cut, drill, screw, cup holders either.

It's in another thread that you might already have, I'll look it up sometime.

Drew, the firebird door mounted cup holders are ONLY good for the 44oz drinks! anything smaller will move around too much lol.

Except the heavy 44oz drinks are so heavy they'll break the top mount if you slam the door with a drink in the cupholder. LOL They're pretty useless in general.

Re: Cupholder Options. A Compilation of Ideas

My cup holder idea. It didn't work the best. Had to lower the passenger seat to screw it down. The arm rest was a used one I got. I wasn't going to screw up the good arm rest that was in the car. I didn't get things lined up quite right. The console door with the cup holder on it will hit the passenger seat when it is up. I never really used that console holder for anything anyway. So it is so no great loss to me, Only thing it was originally good for was cassettes anyway. I can still get into the console area though. I didn't have things lined up correctly. Cup holder sits too high. Arm will hit. I wish I would have reasoned it out instead of wanting cup holders so badly. Well I put the original arm rest lid back on the console. I'm going to use the folding cup holders instead.

The fold away cup holder is what I ended up using.

Re: Cupholder Options. A Compilation of Ideas

Looks like you forgot the center dash vent cupholder. Only works for Camaros though for obvious reasons.
